Here is an older video I made about my toolbox for general tools. I was playing around with editing, and made the video to just sort of practice video-making… but I do think the design is nifty!

The mechanism is not as smooth as I hoped it would be, but it works well-enough.

The trays are 19×13″, the bottom one is 2″ deep, middle one 1.5″, and the top is 1″ deep:

The linkages are 11.5″ long, with holes at half inch in and one in the middle

My design principle of using vertical space instead of horizontal space bears out in the other toolboxes I’ve built.
